Moving Beyond Barriers

With this online training you will gain strategies to help your students prepare to move beyond barriers and expand their career opportunities by persisting through their career pathways program (aka IET’s). This online training addresses two of the most common forms of barriers that adult students face and touches on a third barrier. The two most common barriers emerged in recent research on student persistence. In this training participants will identify and classify student barriers, build understanding and knowledge regarding how to assist students through these barriers, explore a framework for developing problem solving skills in students and will learn about community-based and campus based resources to support student persistence in career pathways programs.

Number of Hours: Participants will receive 1.5 hours of PD Credit

You can complete this training online in the PD Portal. To find the session log into the PD Portal and search by entering the title of the session.
