Current Duties/Roles with TCALL

  • Professional Development Support, Resources, Networking, and Information for Volunteer and Community-Based (CBO) Literacy Providers
    • Provides professional development support and resources to volunteer and CBO local adult education and literacy providers statewide
    • Responds to training needs of volunteer/CBO providers by facilitating coordination with state and regional literacy coalitions and with TWC funded providers and capacity building projects
    • Delivers training as needed according to training schedule and statewide priorities
    • Acts as a point of contact for professional development expertise for volunteer and CBO local adult education and literacy providers
    • Provides professional development information and networking for volunteer and CBO local adult education and literacy providers statewide
    • Acts as TCALL liaison to state and regional literacy coalitions and related capacity building projects funded by Texas Workforce Commission
    • Moderates TCALL’s statewide email discussion list for volunteer and CBO literacy practitioners and their community partners
    • Develops TCALL’s Literacy Provider Directory to represent volunteer and CBO programs
    • Participates in regular planning and strategy meetings with other PD Center Specialists and leadership
    • Participates in ongoing Professional Development initiatives to keep abreast of developments and trends in the field
  • Resource Collection Management
    • Manages production, inventory, and timely dissemination of training materials utilized in professional development events facilitated by TRAIN PD
    • Controls access to copyrighted materials in accordance with policies of Texas Workforce Commission or other publishers as authorized
    • Develops and updates TCALL’s collection of loan and free resources through research and acquisition with a focus on collecting and promoting resources for adult education and literacy PD and for volunteer/CBO literacy programs
    • Oversees all aspects of resource dissemination and collection management
    • Trains and supervises student workers in customer service and materials distribution
    • Monitors quality and speed of customer service to trainers and other resource collection users
