Stakeholder Integration Support Institute:

The Stakeholder Integration Support (SIS) PD Institute’s priority is focused on program and stakeholder needs and will give emphasis to critical PD topics centered on professionalization, recruitment, induction, orientation, and mentoring of practitioners working with WIOA customers. These are critical factors that impact customer outcomes whether the practitioner is an AEL teacher, a Workforce One-Stop intake and assessment worker, a Workforce Solutions – Vocational Rehabilitation counselor, an instructor in developmental education or career/technical education, or a volunteer in a community-based literacy program.

Adult Career Pathways: Strategic Partnerships

Building Strategic Partnerships is intended for adult education program administrators interested in building new and strengthening existing partnerships essential for successful development and implementation of Adult Career Pathways programs and systems. The course is self-paced, will take approximately 1.5 hours to complete, and features three modules: (1) Understanding Strategic Partnerships; (2) Engaging Strategic Partnerships; and (3) Sustaining Strategic Partnerships.

April 5-7, 2017: TACTE - Making a Difference in the Texas Workforce at the OMNI Southpark in Austin
Texas Association of College Technical Educators (TACTE) is a professional organization dedicated to the realities of workforce education in the current job market. Preconference the first morning is A Tutorial on Perkins V and the Alignment with the WIOA and ESSA presented by Michael Brustein of Brustein and Manasevit.  Michael will navigate the attendees through what the Perkins V bill will look like and also address the "blending" and "braiding" of federal funds among the federal workforce programs. Brustein is a national expert on the education programs, federal cost, administrative and audit principles. Online registration will close on 3/30/17 but they will accept onsite registration during the conference.

April 17-18, 2017: Texas Workforce Commission Workforce Forum in Austin - Sponsored by TWC's Workforce and Board Support department, the forum is designed to increase workforce staff capacity through knowledge  and information exchange. Workforce Forum Registration  Draft Agenda Topics

April 18 - 20, 2017: TACE Annual Conference at the Omni Southpark in Austin. Texas Administrators of Continuing Education (TACE) is an organization whose purpose is to promote the development of quality Continuing Education and Workforce programs and promote the development of Continuing Education Professionals. The annual TACE Conference is a powerful and informative conference that provides innovative ideas for contract training, community education, healthcare, grants, and leadership/professional development. June 29, 2017: P-16 Statewide Professional Development Conference. Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board will host this conference in Austin for high school counselors, admissions advisors from two-year and four-year institutions, and other educators interested in learning more about college access and success across Texas. October 22-24, 2017: CASP Conference - “Charting Pathways”. College Academic Support Programs annual conference jointly sponsored by the Texas College Reading and Learning Association, Texas Association for Developmental Education, and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board will be held at the San Luis Resort Spa and Conference Center in Galveston. October 26-29, 2017: Texas Rehabilitation Association 2017 Annual Training Conference. The National Rehabilitation Association (NRA) and Texas Rehabilitation Association will co-host this conference in Corpus Christi. Conference is October 27-29; pre-conference sessions on October 26.
